Bobby is the Managing Partner at The Grinstead Group, working with grower/shippers, wholesalers, foodservice operators, software, and 3PL companies. With a cross-functional background, he focuses on merger and acquisition consulting, business finance, executive placement, supply chain strategy and technology implementation.
An advocate for the industry itself, Bobby also serves on several industry association committees and is co-founder and board member of the Dallas Fresh Food Association. He was also accepted into Class 25 of the United Fresh Leadership Program.
Steve has 40 years experience in the food distribution industry, most recently, eight years as CEO of PRO*ACT. During that same period, he started up and acquired numerous other companies; most were vertically integrated in the fresh food supply chain. Prior to PRO*ACT, Steve spent three years as COO of Standard Fruit and Vegetable in Dallas. During his tenure, the company experienced significant organic growth as well as completing and integrating several acquisitions. Prior to his tenure at Standard, Steve was President of Fresh America, a produce distribution management company.
During his career, Steve has been involved in and had leadership roles in numerous high growth fresh food companies as well as the tech industry. He was involved in many rounds of capital raising, a Public Offering on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange as well as completing and integrating numerous acquisitions. Steve excelled in building strong teams consisting of talented and driven executives.
Steve has been very active in industry wide organizations and was the 2003 Chairman of United Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association. He later served as the 2012-2013 Chairman of the United Fresh Foundation. Steve is a long time member of the PMA, National Restaurant Association and the Food Marketing Institute. He has served on many committees, including the Industry Traceability Initiative Task Force and United’s Produce GAP Harmonization Task Force.
Michael has been a partner with The Grinstead Group for over 4 years and is primarily focused on merger and acquisition activities for our clients. His consulting expertise in strategy and technology has driven outstanding results with various clients in the food industry.
Prior to The Grinstead Group, Michael worked at a tech start-up in sales, and had internships during college at various sports teams and organizations.
Outside of work, Michael enjoys volunteering as a board member with the Dallas Fresh Food Association, that focuses on inspiring consumption and careers in fresh foods in the D/FW Metroplex. Michael is a graduate of the business school at the University of Florida and frustratingly loves all the professional sports teams in Dallas.
